Insomnia
Insomnia is hard to put into words. You never seem to feel awake but not quite asleep. Its like being enveloped in a old dark curtain, everything seems darker and life feels like someone cranked the volume down low. Things that would have shocked or made you ecstatic now seem like the same as that glass of water you got 10 minutes ago.
None of that compares to the torture that is known as night. As the rest of the entire world seems to be asleep snug in the bed, your staring up at that same old white ceiling. The quite can be defining and maddening, then you mind begins to wander around and then it seems to hit you. Your alone. All alone.

Less Then Three
Love. It’s a terrible word right? It describes that moment when you became vulnerable. That split second when you give a piece of you to some random girl. Someone you’ve known for a fraction of your tiny life. They didn’t even do anything to deserve it, maybe it was some kiss that accidentally fell on your lips or the way she sat looking into your eyes at lunch. Then for whatever dumb reason your heart doesn’t belong to you anymore. That hole they left, gets eaten away at from the inside and then is crushed with a single sentence, “I think we should just stay friends”.

I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Not fuck, like in those movies. Not even have sex.
